We are beyond proud of Rowena!! She came to the Freedom House in August of 2015 with several areas of her life needing restoration. Being led by the Lord she began the process. These areas included getting her license and buying a car – which she did. She gained employment and still works there today as a valued employee. During her stay with us she was reunited with her four children and healing began. She successfully completed our Discipleship Program and became one of our interns – leading the other women in the Freedom House, working in the office and sharing her testimony at speaking engagements. In October 2017, she got her own apartment and now has her two daughters living with her. She walks alongside other broken women who have been incarcerated and battle addictions in several ways. She mentors some of our women while they are in prison and walks them through the transition back into our community. She took classes to become a certified One-on-One Recovery Coach at Foundations For Recovery, a local non-profit. She is a leader in her Celebrate Recovery Home Group – a world-wide 12 Step Program with Christ as their higher power. Rowena was able to get established in a local church (Mountain Christian Fellowship) where she is serving today.
She is such a blessing to so many and beyond those she has worked with here at Hope and a Future! She always has a “Yes” in her heart when asked to help!
