Jolie's Story

Having served time in prison for a crime that I committed in 2009, I was able to be still there. I needed this time to be different than any other time that I tried to quit drugs. I was a broken vessel that needed to be filled up… but not with drugs, alcohol, money or men. I needed a touch from Jesus. I had been running from Him for quite some time. I was very angry, hurt and alone. For me myself, going to prison was the best thing that could have happened to me. It gave me the time I needed to learn, think and grow as a person not in bondage to drugs. God used this time of clarity to minister to me and speak restoration into my life. I have seen that God is restoring that which the locust had destroyed. Not material but a life restoration. While in prison I was blessed with meeting Rachelle, a wonderful woman of God. She encouraged me, helped me and stood with me in prayer and as my mentor. Life hasn’t been easy for me since leaving prison but this ministry that God is working through has continued to be there for me, as well as many women by creating a new structure of hope and help for us to look beyond where we were. I’ve seen many women being touched by this ministry and I myself am continually blessed. God’s hands are truly on Hope and A Future Ministries, not just on it but in it. Changes are difficult to make but they are easier to make when you have help and hope. I am thankful for Hope and A Future because it has surely given me one. Today vision speaks louder in my life because of God.
