Prison Ministry
Mathew 25:35-36
"For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me."
We offer one-on-one pastoral care and mentoring while the women are incarcerated and as they navigate through their prison sentences. We also, provide guidance and vital resources to the ladies that will help them upon release into their communities! We are available to meet with the female inmates upon request or for referrals.
Our community resources include: Referrals for Housing, felon friendly jobs, recovery programs, churches, clothing, food, back packs and basic hygiene items.
Statistics show that in Oregon 30% of women inmates will return to prison in the first year of their freedom. Hope and a Future’s goals are to reduce recidivism and transition the women back into society, helping them become positive, productive community members. We enable them to work towards breaking the cycle of crime, addiction and destructive lifestyles. We believe as long as there is breath there is hope! We encourage those who have lost hope that all things are possible. Lives can and do change if they believe for a new Hope and a new Future.
