Irene's Story

From the early years of Irene’s life, messages were being poured into her spirit saying “You are worthless” or “You’ll never amount to anything”.  She developed fear about the future and believed that “Failure” was inevitable for her.  The one skill she did develop however was Survival.  This period in her life fortunately included one very important relationship — Her relationship with GOD.  She thanks Him for having a plan for her life filled with good, not evil. Plans to give her “Hope and a Future” (Jeremiah 29:11).  The Lord has sent her mentors, tutors and sisters-in-Christ…..some women having much in common with her and some not so much. Because of  all these women, Irene successfully obtained her GED and during her speech at the Graduation Ceremony, she encouraged other women to stay the course, let others help, and most importantly…..Don’t Quit!!
